Recipe for Heart beef stroganoff

I was planning to make some food the other day and I really felt like making some beef stroganoff. But then I realized that good, lean, beef meat in Sweden is like €15 a pound. And I'm a poor student so that won't do. I almost replaced the beef in the dish for some cheap sausages before I realized:

If I'm going to eat ground up organs, why don't I just buy some beef hearts instead?

Now, some of you might find the idea of eating an animals heart disgusting. But it's not worse than eating liver. In fact, an animals heart is the cleanest and most lean muscle in an animals body. It also got more protein than a regular muscle and contains a lot of nutritious iron. It's pretty damn healthy. But the best thing about it is that it goes for like €3 a pound. If not less.

Well I made the dish, and it turned out great! So now I'm going to share this wonderous dish with all you loyal readers!

  • 1 Kg Cow Heart
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 50 cl Cream
  • 500 g Strained tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp of Mustard
  • Soy
  • Habanero Tabasco
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil

Mince the meat into small pieces. Cow heart needs to be prepared a certain way which can be seen here.
Make a marinade with oil, mustard, chili powder, salt, pepper and soy.
Toss the meat into the marinade and leave it be for about an hour or two.

Chop up the onion nicely and fry in a large pot.
Now add the the marinated cow heart and fry it until it gets a nice golden color.
Add the strained tomatoes, mustard and cream.
Add all the spices after your own taste.
Boil on a low heat for about 30 minutes.

Serve with rice!

How to make tunnbrod

So this is what we Swedish do on Saturday nights. We live an exciting life. Also, this is the proper way to make tunnbröd/tunnbrod. I would post the actually ingredients but since it's been in my family for generations I'm quite reluctant to do that. Googling a random one on should do just as well.

We're using a table, a Koskenkorva Vodka bottle, a Pizza Stone in the oven and one of these:

This is the new album Coexist from the band The XX. It got some really cool song in it. But that's not why I'm blogging about it today. I'm blogging about it because of their most awesome idea of spreading it to the public

The XX shared their new album with only one fan to see how quickly it could go viral. And they decided to make the progress visible. So all you have to do is to click "Click here to see the share visualizer" and then share it on twitter or something to be part of the map.

You should most definitely check them out.

How to make an instagram filter in Photoshop.

It's kinda hard to admit, but I've always thought that photos run through the instagram app for them iPhones and what not looks kinda cool. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I actually grew up during the time of analog photos. Cross processing was a thing back then as well. It was actually when you used one type of chemical solution to develop the wrong kind of film.

This was more often than not purely by accident but sometimes, if you were lucky, you'd actually get pretty cool results.

Anywho, since I don't own an iPhone, I don't own an analog camera anymore and my digital camera doesn't really support being dropped in chemicals I had to figure out how to do this in Photoshop. Turns out, it's not so hard. So here goes it!

First you do is open the photo you want to "Instagram". I'm going to use a self shot of my self, taken half naked in front of a mirror, just to give it that whole Facebook/blogger feel. The camera used was a Canon PowerShot A2200 installed with the CHDK hack.

Next thing you have to do is make a new adjustment layer. Pick Curves...

This should give you a new layer like so.

Click on the white square thingie to the left on the new layer and It'll bring up the curves.

Now you have four different curves. Just drag them so that they correspond to the curves in the next pictures. The black curve should be slightly adjusted as well.

And that's it really. Enjoy your new "cross processed" image. Here's how mine turned out in all of its 14 megapixel beauty.

If you click it, it's probably larger than your screen.

And yes, this whole post was just a silly excuse to post pictures of myself on my blog.

Best essay ever

Some guy I know was complaining over the fact that he had to write some kind of essay for school. It had to include all kinds of stuff, like some life story bullshit and talking to a waiter and what not. So I said to him, I said: "I'll just write it for you." And I did. Then I felt like sharing it with you guys, so here it is.

My name is Name Mc. Nameson and I'm XX years old. I've lived quite the uneventful life. I'm not to say that it has been boring, or even bad, but it hasnt been so much eventful either. I was born in a town called "my town" and more or less lived there my whole life. We've moved around a couple of times, my family and I, but never had any real changes.
I remember this one time i went to a restaurant thought. A shabby little asian resturant in the outskirts to town. It didn't look like much but the food was pretty decent. And it was cheap. One day they had a new waiter tho, who was a bit strange. Our conversation went something like this: Waiter: "What you order?" to which I responded: "Fish filet."
As soon as i said "fish filet" the waiter got this blank stare on his face. He litteraly just stared at me for around 20 seconds. And then i heard it. The music. It didn't seem to come from anywhere and yet it came from everywhere at once. The waiter stepped back a couple of feet and started screaming "WHAT SHE ORDER? FISH FILET!" over and over again. I was starting to freak out at this point.
After he waiter had repeated the phrase about nine or ten times, the chef came out and wondered what was going on. He tried talking to the waiter who was still screaming. Even though he waiter had started of screaming with full force, it seemed like he was getting louder and louder every time he opened his mouth. I was frozen in my seat just watching in horror. The chef was shaking him now, also screaming, with fear starting to show more and more in his eyes.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOP! TING XIALAI! LIJI TINGZHI!" he screamed. Everthing after that was in chinese. I decided that it was it was time for me to leave.
I didn't actually have a tab since I hadn't ordered anything yet but i decided to leave a tenner anywho. I felt sorry for the chef that had to deal with this unatural behavior. I promptly left the resturant after that. Door slamming behind me with that distinctive bell sound those restaurants always use I could faintly hear someone say "Thank you! Please come again!" Perhaps it was my imagination. I never went there again thought.

I hope he gets an A.

Gotye - Somebodies: A YouTube Orchestra

Goty himself decided to make a remix of a shitload of different covers and remixes of his song "Sombody that I used to know". It sounds pretty cool. Not something I'd have playing on repeat but for a one time watch it's pretty damn cool.

AirMech

First of all I'd like to apologize for my lack of posts recently. The reason for my disappearance is no other than AirMech.

AirMech is a top down real time strategy game. Well, it's more of a tactical game really, resembling the likes of DoTA, HoN, LoL etc. But those don't have anything on AirMech. Airmech is faster, more challenging, has better controls and you drive a jet that can transform into a mecha which shoots lasers. Lasers!

It's really a re-imagination of the game Herzog Zwei which came out for the SEGA Genesis back in 1989. So if you're my age you might even remember the pre-cursor to this game. Either case, It's awesome, and you should try it.

You can find it over at Carbon Games. And it's free. There's both a PC and a Chrome (the web browser) version on there. I recommend getting the PC version thought. The Chrome version got some FPS issues.

How to make a homemade Big Mac

Here's a video giving a detailed and official way to make a Big Mac burger at home. It's part of a new McDonald's ad campaign in Canada that basically says "Hey, look at us, we're not evil".

Anywho, since they posted the video but somehow forgot to post a list of ingredients I'm going to try my best to write them down.

Ingredients:

Big Mac Sauce:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Sweet pickle relish
  • Classic yellow mustard
  • White wine vinegar
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Paprika powder

Condiments:

  • Onion
  • Lettuce
  • Pickle
  • Cheese

Bun:

Just a regular large bun cut into three pieces and toasted on the stove

Mixing it:

I guess you'll have to try different mixes of the quantities yourself. I'd say he's using about 4 deciliter of mayo, 1.5 deciliter of sweet pickle relish, 0.5 deciliter mustard, a teaspoon of white vinegar and like a couple of grams of each spice. But my guess is as good as yours.

Anywho, I wish you luck if you're going to try it. I'm thinking of trying it right now.

Edit: I found that 2.5 dl mayo, 0.5 dl of pickle relish and about 0.2 dl of mustard worked really, really, well. took a tablespoon of the spices and vinegar each.

Fastest robot in the world

I just found this footage of the fastest robot in the world.

It's not long until we can get our own copy of that mechanical cat robot from the movie Mars. Or was it red planet? I can't remember. Hell, all you have to do is put a head and some razor claws on that thing and you're done.

It was red planet.

The Declaration of Internet Freedom

Well, it's been a boring week. With the exception for Power Big Meet that was last weekend. It's one of, if not the, biggest american car meets in the world. And it's just a whole big drink party. We were seated in a car that they had cut the roof of off just the day before, drinking beer and whiskey until the cops came and told us the car was illegal to drive for like the third time.

Anywho, about the Declaration of Internet Freedom thing. It's an article I stumbled over the other day when i was browsing the web. Their info pictures probably do the explaining way better than me:

You can click the image to go to their page.

It's a good idea and I do hope we get some people behind it.

To understand is to perceive patterns

I just found a video that describes something I've been thinking about for years and years just beautifully. How small patters come together to form bigger ones. Going from atoms, molecules, single celled life, multi-cellular life,  organisms with organs, animals with collaboration, cities, information networks around the world. Are cities alive? Is the internet aware? Will the universe ultimately be one big living, thinking, entity?

Midsummer!

Today is midsummer! For you non-European that's a holiday centered around the summer solstice. But it's quite more festive than that. It's kinda like our national day, but isn't at the same time... well the point is that I'm going to get drunk today. Really drunk.

MIDSUMMER!
The recommended thing to drink is snaps.

El Guincho | Bombay

It's recently come to my attention that the biggest blogs out there update like 4-5 times a day. So my new plan is to post something quick every morning (this is morning for me) before work and then try to write something longer when I get back home.

Anywho, this is an adorable music video I found. The video editing is quite good as well. Watch it, enjoy.

Someone bombed my favorite club

So yesterday was just like any other day. Except for the fact that instead of going out to my favorite club like I always do, I shamelessly fell asleep around 8 pm. Turns out that was the best choice for me that evening because at 00:21 am that night someone bombed the club. Thankfully nobody got hurt but it certainly rustled people jimmies. A couple of windows got blown out and the sound from the explosion carried itself up to 5 km from the blast.

In other news: Swedish summers sucks. It's been raining non-stop for like a month. Not cool nature, not cool.

A new summer!

Hello everybody! College is officially done for the semester, and summer is here, so I will hopefull be able to get out post more frequently again. There's really nothing to blog about during the winters.

So what's new with me? Well, I still look, act and feel awesome. But that's not really new. I am a business owner thought. That's kinda new. And now you might be thinking: "That's cool Cray, you're awesome! But what does your kinda new company actually do?" Well I'll tell ya!

My company creates value to customers by optimizing productivity and efficiency through the promotion of synergy.

Doesn't really get any easier than that. Anywho, since summer just started, and we haven't had a single decent day with sunshine, I don't really got much more to tell you guys. So I'll just keep this post short. Be well y'all!

SUMMER! FUCK YEAH!

Che Cigarettes

Yesterday when I was out looking for a new pack of cigarettes, since I had run out of smokes three minutes earlier, I found the most intriguing packets of smokes ever: Che Filter Cigarettes.

Che Filter Cigarettes is a brand that tastes more or less like Prince Filter Cigarettes. But there's a twist to the flavor since every time you smoke one, you're punching communism in the face. Which makes them so much better than regular cigarettes.

Smoking kills.

Anyone who's been on the internet, or know a hipster, knows who Ernesto "Che" Guevara is. But for you who don't know, he was an "Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, intellectual, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist." according to Wikipedia.

The keyword here is "Marxist revolutionary". Meaning that he was a communist. As we all know, I'm a capitalist myself. I'm all for free market. Private ownership gives me a boner. So I find it kind of ironic that one of the most well known advocates for communist now got his face on ad campaigns, t-shirts, coffee cups and now cigarettes. The very thing he was fighting against, capitalism, is now using his dead likeness to earn money.

"His experiences and observations during these trips led him to conclude that the region's ingrained economic inequalities were an intrinsic result of capitalism, monopolism, neocolonialism, and imperialism, with the only remedy being world revolution." -Wikipedia

So have a Che Cigarette, El cigarettes con filtro sin aromaticos, and taste the victory of capitalism over communism. One drag at a time.

Om Surahammar

This post will be in Swedish and can be disregarded as a social experiment by all of you english speaking people. Or you know, "Swedish gibberish".

Teto Parvanov - Amalgamation EP

I just heard an awesome EP by Teto Parvanov and I liked it so much that I asked the guy if it was ok to share it on my blog. He said that it'd be amazing so here it is.

You can listen to it here on my blog or just download the whole thing for free, in several different high quality formats, so that you can store it on your hard drive, iPod or Zune. Ha... Zune...

Well that's it really. Live long and happy lifes and all that jazz.

I'm an atheist.

I'm an atheist... but so are everyone else in my country. This means that I'll never be able to use this line while arguing with a christian woman:

Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

It kind of saddens me. Hell, I don't think I've ever heard "Have you found Jesus Christ?"

This competition is now in its second stage. You can find the new link in my new post here

CLICK HERE TO VOTE FOR JESSICA AND FOR MORE PICTURES!

One of my lady friends asked me to write a short segment about her and a contest that she's currently trying to win. Since I'm a strong advocate of people winning more stuff and wearing less clothes, I couldn't really say no. So here we are.

Click here to vote and more pictures
So meet Jessica. She's 21 years old and... hell I'll just translate the competition site.

About Me:
Frisky girl that's 21 years. Am not ashamed of a lot, likes to make other people smile, buthate to not find what I'm looking for. In my spare time I dance away and love to playaround to Latin-inspired music. The music lies close to my heart. On my other free time, I ensure that my loved ones are well. Their welfare is my command.
What kind of charity would you like to work with if you win?
Undoubtedly, children at risk. To expose something as innocent and defenseless as a child, for mental and physical disorder, is the worst that could happen in my eyes.

You can thank Google for that translation. Anywho, if you want to help her out, you can vote on her by clicking the Facebook "Like" thingie on this site. There's also more pictures of her on there. And here comes a really big link:

What is KONY 12?

First of all, I'd like to say that Life of Cray fully supports the KONY 12 movement. That's why this post is being written right now.

So what is KONY 12?

KONY 12 is a movement thought up by Invisible Children. Hell, I'm just going to post the whole description and link you to the video.

Quote:

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.
HOW TO HELP:
Donate to Invisible Children:
End Quote
Well I guess that's all I need to say really, the movie is quite self-explanatory.

GO SUPPORT THE KONY 12 MOVEMENT!
MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!

This was like the biggest scam ever. At least I got some views from it.

My first hate mail!

Just like the topic says, I got my first hate mail today! Well it was more of a comment really but it still made me happy. This one was from a nice person named Kelly Greenlaw and was posted on my incredibly serious post called "Horses don't have souls".

Stay classy Kelly Greenlaw!
She obviously didn't even bother to read the whole post. But the more important thing to take from this is that someone out there in the world, went on my blog, and cared enough to spend several seconds of their life making an angry post. Do you know what this means? I'M FUCKING FAMOUS BITCHES! HELL YEAH!

I think i'll keep writing about soulless stuff like lamps posts, wallpaper and gingers just to capitalize on this. In fact, my next post will probably be called "Gingers don't have any souls". Or even better: I'll make a contest about it, a weekly segment of  "Does [Random thing] got more soul than a horse? VOTE NOW!".

Good times :D

The man with a hangover: A short movie staring Cray

As you guys might've seen over the past months, I'm quite a fan of drinking. But something I don't quite enjoy as much is the hangovers following the day after. So when my friend asked me to star in his movie about a hangover i jumped on it immediately. Well, that and the fact that I love seeing myself on film.

Anywho, here's the end result. Enjoy.
